The Stakeholder Assessment Report (STAR) delivers insight about a foundation's effectiveness by surveying stakeholders who the foundation seeks to influence as part of its strategy.

The STAR provides an analysis of feedback from individuals within the following types of organizations:

• Academics or other subject experts
• Business/ industry experts
• Government (local, state, national)
• Media
• Nonprofit organizations (including past grantees, but excluding currently funded grantees)
• Nonprofit support and intermediary organizations
• Other funders

The survey queries stakeholders qualitatively and quantitatively on a range of topics – from the foundation’s communications and resources to its influence and impact. The final report provides an analysis of feedback from each group and overall, highlighting perceived foundation strengths and areas for improvement.
